By the end of the sixth interval, I feel like I’m going to die, and there is a nearly overwhelming tendency to cheat just a bit (take 12 seconds rest instead of 10; start the next interval with a 5-second ramp-up rather than going hard from the start; etc.). I rarely make it to 8 intervals, and frequently stop after 6. When I am not in great shape I can’t manage 6.
